A MINIMALLY INVASIVE PROCEDURE, FACIAL THREAD LIFTS HELP RESTORE SAGGING FACIAL TISSUES CAUSED BY FACTORS LIKE AGING AND GRAVITATIONAL FORCES WITHOUT HAVING TO GO UNDER THE KNIFE. SPECIAL THREADS WITH BARBED HOOKS ARE USED TO LIFT AND TIGHTEN THE SAGGING SKIN TISSUES, SIMILAR TO THE MOTION OF PULLING.


THE THREADS USED ARE MADE FROM MATERIALS THAT ARE SAFE FOR MEDICAL SURGERIES AND PROCEDURES, WITH PDO, PCL AND PLLA BEING THE MOST COMMON TYPES. DUE TO THEIR BIO-STIMULATORY PROPERTIES, THESE THREADS CAN STIMULATE COLLAGEN PRODUCTION AND TISSUE REGENERATION WITHIN THE SKIN LAYERS AND ARE DISSOLVED AND FULLY ABSORBED BY THE BODY OVERTIME. DIFFERENT MATERIAL TAKES DIFFERENT TIME TO DISINTEGRATE.


FACIAL THREAD LIFTS ARE MAINLY USED TO RESTORE FACIAL VOLUME, TIGHTEN LOOSE AND SAGGY SKIN, REDUCE WRINKLES AND FINE LINES, DROOPY EYES OR EVEN JUST FOR REJUVENATION PURPOSES. RESULTS CAN LAST FROM AT LEAST 6 MONTHS TO 2 YEARS, DEPENDING ON THE TYPE OF THREAD AND THE METHOD USED.


FACIAL THREAD LIFTS ARE RELATIVELY SAFE AND FAST AS COMPARED TO FACIAL SURGERIES. NUMBING AND/OR LOCAL ANAESTHESIA OF THE TREATMENT AREA IS DONE BEFORE ANY INSERTION OF THE THREADS TO MINIMISE ANY DISCOMFORT FELT DURING THE PROCEDURE. – Lasts between 6 – 12 months 
– The threads will typically be dissolved within a year

PLLA (Poly-L-Lactic Acid, similar to the filler known as Sculptra):
– Lasts between 1.5 – 2 years
– Even more effective at stimulating collagen production than PDO 
– Once dissolved, the material breaks down into lactate, glucose, carbon dioxide and water
– One of the commonly used materials by advanced thread lift doctors for treatment 
– Collagen stimulated during the treatment can sometimes last until well after the thread has gone

 

PCL (Polycaprolactone infused with Vitamin C):
– Lasts between 2 to 3 years
– Bonds and structure in PCL are stronger and more complex, thus taking a long time for our bodies to dissolve
– The slow rate of degradation makes it a good material to deliver Vitamin C to the surrounding tissues
– Vitamin C is proven to prevent pigment formation, lighten existing pigments and has anti-ageing effects 
– It is extremely potent at stimulating collagen production
– Once dissolved, the material breaks down into carbon dioxide and water
– Popular fast for dark eye circles reduction
– Collagen stimulated during the treatment can sometimes last until well after the thread has gone
