How it works
Uses absorbable Polydioxanone (PDO) or Polycaprolactone (PCL) threads that are 100% bio-compatible with the human body. The PDO threads are inserted horizontally into the nose bridge and vertically into the nose tip which could help to address ill-defined noses that lack height and projection. These threads act as a scaffolding structure to achieve higher, straighter and sharper nose bridge. The tiny anchoring points (barbs) throughout the threads also allows it to ‘tighten’ when inserted. This results in a more lifted and sharper nose tip.
Nose Threads are made of PDO/PCL which will be absorbed by the body. They typically last around 12 months - 3 years depending on the type of material used, lifestyle and how your body reacts to it. Skin conditions, smoking, age, level of sun exposure, how you treat your skin and drinking habits are some factors that come into play in how these threads will last.
What to expect
Prior to your first treatment, your doctor will consult with you to assess your skin condition and your suitability on the types and number of threads and also the methods used.
Collagen remodelling effect and a more lifted, defined and sharper nose.
By using the Seamless Traceless Technique, there will be no visible insertion point seen. For conventional method of insertion, there will be small insertion mark from where the local numbing solution was injected and where the threads were inserted, and possibly mild swelling for about 2-3 days.
Post treatment care
Avoid going to the steam room, sauna, swimming, excessive alcohol intake and engaging in heavy exercise such as High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) for the next 5 days post procedure. Avoid vigorous rubbing and frequent touching on the treatment area/thread insertion point to prevent risk of infection. You are also advised to sleep on your back to allow the swelling to subside and to avoid pressure on the face that might cause misalignment of the threads. Patient will be advised on post treatment care after the procedure.
Patient will be advised to return for a follow up session 2-3 weeks post procedure. For optimal results, repeat follow up treatments 9-12 months after the initial treatment. For some cases, combination treatments with fillers for nose contouring would be recommended.
